Exhibitors Spotlight - The Pom Pom Shack

Always one to love creative ideas and unique decorations, we was drawn to The Pom Pom Shack reinvention of the pom pom. We caught we Cherie, to ask her about her wedding enjoyments and how she fits her business around her family.

How did you come up with your business idea?

It all started with the idea to make some paper poms for my fortieth birthday; I loved them so much, that I then started to experiment with other materials for up to a year afterwards, and finally came up with my product; Tulle Pom Pom’s!

Whats the best thing about working for yourself?

I love it because I can choose the hours I want to work, and being a mum of three, that can be a very tricky situation in a normal job! It’s also extremely rewarding to see other people appreciating and loving the products I make, because these decorations are my passion.

What tune do you put on to get you ready for the day?

Happy Pharrell keeps my spirits high! Keeps me motivated.

What do you most love about weddings?

The romance, atmosphere, and of course the decorations.

If you could invite any person, who would you invite as your plus one to a wedding?

Jack Black for sure! such a funny guy.

English wedding or go abroad?

Has to be an English wedding. Love or hate our weather, we do have a beautiful country.

DJ or band?

Definitely a D.J, bring on those old school tunes!

What one piece of advice would you give to a bride on her wedding day?

To savour every single, beautiful moment; the day flies by so quickly.

Any exciting news you can share with us?

My Pom pom’s are in the Courtesan Boutiques window display in Worthing.

If you could ask your future self one question what would it be?

Would I Jazz up with my celebration, with Pom Poms? Most definitely yes ;)

If you would like to meet Cherie and speak about your party requirements, come to meet The Pom Pom Shack on Sunday 8th June at The Nostalgic Wedding Fair, Guildhall Winchester, Hampshire.
