Let's meet who is joining us at the Vintage Villag

Goodness, from wedding to airshows - it's all go at V.P  H.Q. As we like to keep you in the loop, we are featuring some of our exhibitors in the lead up to Vintage Village at the Royal International Air Tattoo.

Firstly we would like to introduce Severn Beach Antiques. Mark collects a variety of wonderful nostaligc toys and those electic items which you may find hidden in your Grandad shed.  We caught up with Mark to find out why he can't live with out his vintage bean slicer.

How did you come up with your business idea?

A hobby that turned into a career

Whats the best thing about working for yourself?

I love what Im doing. Every day is like Christmas when new stock arrives. I miss the money from my lawyering days but this is so much more fun seeing my customers have fond memories of their childhood. I once had a man cry on my stall.. with happiness i might add when he saw his favourite toy that his mom had thrown away 50 years ago. You never forget your favourite toy.

What tune do you put on to get you ready for the day?

Radio 5 .. boring i know

What do you most love about vintage?

Things were made better in the past. As much care was taken with the packaging as with the contents.

What piece of vintage/retro item could you not live with out?

My bean slicer and record player

What is the most weirdest item you have come across?

I had a cased baby chick with 2 heads! Really wish i had kept it.

If you could have dinner with one person in history who would you invite ?

Emily Pankhurst

How far do you travel to collect your unique items?

At fairs all over the country

If you were not doing this job, what would you be doing?

Lying on a beach on a deserted island ( i wish)

Any exciting news you can share with us?

I am like billy no mates as this career takes over every day.. so nothing exciting which would bore the pants off everyone else.

What can we expect to see at your stall in the Vintage Village at the Royal International Tattoo?

Some great toys and games, old tins and packaging, some super vintage kitchen gadgets and loads of people says “ My gran had one of those”.

If you would like to meet Mark and pick up some of his kitchen paraphilia come to the Royal International Air Tattoo or go straight to his website
