Pretty Nostalgic - independently beautiful

It was nearly 2 years ago when we met Nicole Burnett at Vintage Nation in Brighton.
I was drawn into the corner of the room, where she was nestled behind vintage dresses and kitchenlia. Nicole was talking to people about a magazine. A new magazine. Square in shape that smelt like a new pair of shoes. A new magazine which throws all of the rules out of the window when it comes to publishing. Pretty Nostalgic; a bimonthly home and lifestyle magazine which encourages creative and sustainable living inspired by the past.

Firstly, Nicole has ethics. They are firmly fixed and will not be changed to suit the media template. Everything included in the magazine must be made in the UK. Each article is considered, placed accordingly and not by popularity of trends. No large advertisers and product endorsements; this includes Cath Kidson - as she does not produce all of her products in the UK.

This is truly inspirational. Not ground braking, however she is determined to stick to what she believes. At times we can be swayed with our opinions, having our morals pushed aside. It is Nicole’s determination, enthusiasm and passion for sustainability, individuality and independence which makes her work, Pretty Nostalgic a very unique business.

We was honoured to have Pretty Nostalgic come to our Vintage Fair in Winchester in 2013. A year has passed and we have both grown (not physically). Nicole will be joining us on Easter Sunday within the Makers Market which supports independent artisans, illustrators and makers. Generously donating the Pretty Nostalgic Home Book for our Prize draw! Eak! Wish I could Win this prize. Just come along and pay £2 and we shall give a ticket. Prizes shall be drawn at 3pm. With other prizes including a gorgeous Easter Egg to be given away. The bank holiday has never looked so good.

PS We shall be collaborating with this fine lady later in the year, July we shall set up camp at the Royal International Air Tattoo. More news to come later in the year.
