Vintage flying high

It's been a great two years creating The Vintage Parade. A newbie to the industry, the events started something as a small project. I never could foresee where the future would lie.

Since we opened our doors at our first fair in Chichester 2012, we have since moved to a larger venue in Winchester, established a wedding fair, collaborated with the Goodwood Revival and created Arundel Festivals first vintage market!

This a sentiment most people say, however we could of not done it with out the support of our fans and traders. A very special thank you goes to my family and friends who have supported me through the highs and lows of the event world.

Now in our second year we have been offered the opportunity to collaborate on another project and established ourselves on larger soil. In December 2013 we had a email from an established UK event asking us if we would be interested in creating a vintage retail area. I was a bit unsure if to believe they wanted to work with me, as there is always a bit of doubt in these to good to be true offers.

From emails to meetings, becomes a reality. This summer we our heading up to the Cotswolds to create a vintage retail area at the Worlds Largest Air Show, The Royal International Air Tattoo.

Last year for the first time in the history of the Air Tattoo, The Vintage Village hosted a spectacular display of sporting cars of the 1930- 1960’s, many with aviation links.

From what we saw of last year, it looks like a brilliant vintage area. They had the gorgeous team from Tea Vintage, a 1940s travelling tea room supplying nostalgic cakes and refreshment from one of the best dressed kitchen I have ever seen; vintage floral fabric and matching china cup and saucers.

Entertainment and sheer nostalgic fun, games and dancing was provided by the Battle Of Britain. Bringing characters from the 1940s to the present day.

We are so happy to be given this opportunity to work along side this prestigious event, assisting to create a new added addition to the Vintage Village.

2014 will bring a selection of vintage traders selling some of the very best the UK has to offer in vintage.

There will be a vintage beauty salon and barber shop to keep you looking glam and polished, with lots of entertainment provided throughout the day, suitable for all the family.

This is just the beginning of the exciting plans being organised and when more information become available we shall show and tell.
